Whatsapp Status Phobia

A few days ago, I officially removed my whatsapp status. The reason being, sometimes I'm busy replying my work related work and my friends keep asking me, "why you online no reply me?", some lagi worse, instead of pursuing me with an explanation, decided to cold war with me all the way when I replied to their whatsapp at night.

I've heard ridiculously many stories about how whatsapp status affects friendship, kinship or whatever boy-girl relationships. Come on la, we are all grown-ups, I'm pretty sure we can be a little more mature instead of camping around all the day wondering why this person or that person doesn't reply you. I know sometimes it hurts to see the person online but he or she is not replying you, you feel unwanted and not prioritised. And many people also told me that the quicker the person replies to you, shows how important you are and if that this person is actually a keeper.

For me, not true actually. Even to my own personal friendships and relationships, I do not pressure my friends to reply me or even my boyfriend, despite seeing them online. Everyone needs personal space? Even your best friends, your lover, your mom or etc. (but this does not apply to acknowledging that you've read the text. I DEMAND people to reply me at least one word "ok" if they had read it, because it's basic courtesy! It's ok if you don't acknowledge immediately but come on lah "ok" need 1 min? (Probably my mum needs, she's a technology noob trying to learn new skills) but "ok" apparently does not need a min. It only takes about 3 secs of your precious time?

BUT IF THE PERSON DOESN'T REPLY YOU AFTER A WEEK YOU CAN PROBABLY FORGET ABOUT THIS PERSON REPLYING YOU. I have a principle of checking my whatsapp every night, to the best ability I can, so I don't miss anyone's msges. But if I do, I apologise for it because sometimes the chats are too overwhelming if I don't mute them and the old chats will be pushed to the bottom.

AND I ALSO BELIEVE THAT THE 2ND TICKS DOES NOT MEAN THAT THE MESSAGE IS READ. Because it happened to me and I did not read those messages. Not that I'm a supporter of blackberry, but I do miss how blackberry messenger was such a joy to chat in. I used whatsapp because it's just dominating, since all my friends had it. I prefer Line and Kakaotalk! Super kawaii emoticons.
